What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? One woman is thankful that Harrison Ford came to her aid after her car went off the road.
Harrison Ford is being praised for rescuing a woman who crashed on a California highway. According to TMZ, the Blade Runner 2049 actor was driving in Santa Paula when a woman lost control of her vehicle and ran off the road into a small embankment. Ford and a group of bystanders immediately pulled over to lend a hand.
According to officials, Ford was not a witness to the crash and didn’t provide any statements. So, maybe rescue is too strong of a word. How about, Ford was present while bystanders helped the woman out of her car, or Ford didn’t immediately drive past the scene.
The group of good Samaritans managed to get the woman safely out of her car before the paramedics arrived on scene. The woman was reportedly taken to the emergency room with only minor injuries.
Local police officer, Matt Alonzo, said of Ford: “He acted as a good Samaritan just like everybody else, and tried to help before emergency services arrived.”
This isn’t the first time Ford has come to assistance of others. In 2000, when a hiker got stranded in Idaho Falls, the actor used his helicopter to provide a rescue. He rescued another 13-year-old Boy Scout in 2001 who was lost for 18 hours near Yellowstone National park.
Ford is also no stranger to acting quickly in emergency situations. The amateur pilot has been involved in several plane and helicopter crashes in his lifetime. In fact, he suffered serious injuries back in 2015 after engine trouble forced him to do an emergency landing on a golf course near the airport.
