“Game of Thrones” fans may be excited over the ordering of multiple prequel shows, it still does not, however, diminish the pain of the show’s final season lurking right around the corner, well not exactly right around the corner. Kit Harington, aka Jon Snow, may have just twisted the knife, “for the watch” style, with his recent comment about his iconic hair.

Spoiler Alert: It’s coming off.

“I’d like to step away and enjoy the obscurity, cut my hair, make myself less recognizable as the character, and go do and some other things with a completely new look and tone,” Harington told Entertainment Weekly.

That’s right Game of Thron-ites, Kit is losing the hair.

When asked how short he plans on cutting the hair, Harington responded with, “Short-short.”  “The beard will be harder to get rid of — I quite like the beard. I like having the long hair and beard both, but it will be like ritualistic thing. I can’t go into my next role looking the same,” said Harington.

By the gods! What are you doing to us, Kit! I mean…what are doing to those who have an unexplainable affection, a special bond, with your silky obsidian curls.

The good news is that the locks remained intact during his wedding to former co-star Rose Leslie. The pair recently got married at a church service in Scotland.

Harington isn’t the only GOT actor saying goodbye to a beloved character. Emilia Clarke posted a farewell post on Instagram mourning the shows final season.

“Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade,” Clarke wrote alongside a photo of herself lying in a field of flowers. “It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing.”

The two may have expressed their sorrow over the show’s upcoming conclusion, but both Clarke and Harington have blossoming careers outside the George R.R. Martin universe.

The six-episode final season of GOT is scheduled to air in April of 2019.
